After serving eight years in the United States Coast Guard, Major Christopher Chastain was hired by the Davie Police Department and graduated from the 191st Broward Police Academy in 1998.
Major Chastain holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Barry University, a Masters in Law Enforcement Public Safety Leadership from the University of San Diego.
After serving in the Road Patrol Division, he was selected as a Detective and was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division, where he specialized in computer crimes and crimes against children. He served as the department Public Information Officer, member of the Special Response Team, Mobile Field Force, Dive Team, and Honor Guard.
In 2008, he was promoted to Sergeant and rose through the ranks to the position of Captain in 2019. During his thirteen years as a supervisor, Major Chastain has led virtually every unit and is currently assigned to the Administrative Support Division.
