Town Budget

The Town of Davie Annual Budget is adopted in September of each year, and is effective for the fiscal year beginning October 1 and ending on September 30. For example, the current town budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 is for the period October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. The Town Council approved the Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Budget and millage rates during a public hearing on September 17, 2018. 

Development of Budget

Development of the Fiscal Year 2020 Budget begins in March 2019 and public participation is encouraged. The Town Council’s Vision & Goal Setting session was held on March 22, 2019 and one community forum will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.  This event will take place at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center's Palm room located at 3801 South Pine Island Road from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Over the summer months, the Town Council will hold the following public workshops to discuss and refine the proposed FY 2020 Budget.

Millage Rates

The FY 2020 millage rates (i.e. tax rate) and FY 2020 Budget will be adopted in September 2019 following two public hearings. Assessment rates for the fire protection assessment and the solid waste assessment will be approved during a separate hearing. The public is invited to attend these hearings and may speak on the proposed assessment rates, millage rates and budget. The tentative millage rate and budget are approved at the first budget hearing, while the final millage rate and budget for Fiscal Year 2020 are adopted at the second budget hearing.
