Town Budget

The Town of Davie Annual Budget is adopted in September of each year, and is effective for the fiscal year beginning October 1 and ending on September 30. For example, the current town budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 is for the period October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018. The Town Council approved the Fiscal Year 2018 Annual Budget and millage rates during a public hearing on September 27, 2017. 

Development of Budget

Development of the Fiscal Year 2019 Budget begins in March 2018 and public participation is encouraged. The Town Council’s Vision & Goal Setting session will be held on April 13, 2018 and four community forums will be held throughout the Town in April or early May. Dates and locations will be posted on the Town’s website once those meetings are scheduled.

Over the summer months, the Town Council will hold the following public workshops to discuss and refine the proposed FY 2019 Budget.

Millage Rates

The FY 2019 millage rates (i.e. tax rate) and FY 2019 Budget will be adopted in September 2018 following two public hearings. Assessment rates for the fire protection assessment and the solid waste assessment will be approved during a separate hearing. The public is invited to attend these hearings and may speak on the proposed assessment rates, millage rates and budget. The tentative millage rate and budget are approved at the first budget hearing, while the final millage rate and budget for Fiscal Year 2019 are adopted at the second budget hearing.
