Location: Portion of University Drive and Pine Island Park (Bamford Sports Complex)

DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie Utilities Department will commence a reclaimed water main improvements project at Pine Island Park (Bamford Sports Complex), located at 3801 S. Pine Island Road and along University Drive between Southwest 30th Street and Southwest 36th Street (see map).

This project is scheduled to begin on August 1, 2022, and is anticipated to conclude on June 30, 2023. The work will be completed Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To reduce disruptive excavation during the project, the crew will utilize a trenchless horizontal directional drill method to extend the new reclaimed water main. Open cut areas will require excavation to connect to the existing reclaimed water main at University Drive and SW 30th Street in February 2023. Once all work is complete, the new reclaimed water mains will provide these areas with additional irrigation services.

What to Expect:

  • Park Information – There will be little to no interruptions to the Park’s operations throughout this project.
  • Outdoor Noise – Construction sounds are expected to be minimal and produced by various machines.
  • Traffic Disruptions - While construction crews are performing work, residents will experience minimal traffic disruptions. Excavated areas will be closed to traffic in February 2023 (start date to be determined). The estimated timeframe to complete this work is about two days. The town's contractor will place informational signage along the road to assist traffic flow.
