1-Day Cold Weather Emergency Advisory

The
National Weather Service is predicting low temperatures overnight on Saturday, January 13, 2018, includingwind chill, in the mid to upper 40’s in Broward metro areas.  Therefore, Broward
County has declared a 1-Day Weather Emergency from Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. until Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 7:00 a.m.

Homelesspersons are advised to report to the following pickup and/or shelter locations
(map below), no later than 6:30 p.m. on Saturday nightfor transportation or access to special cold-night
shelters:
 

§  City of Pompano Beach 
Pompano Beach City Hall
100 W. Atlantic Blvd (SE Corner)
(Pickup Location Only)

 

§  City of FortLauderdale
The Salvation Army
1445 West Broward Blvd
(Shelter and Pickup Location)

§  City of Hollywood
Broward Outreach Center
2056 Scott Street
(Shelter Location Only)

However,if the weather forecast changes to predict warmer or colder conditions, cold
weather emergency shelter nights may be cancelled or extended. If there arechanges to this declaration by Broward County, they will be issued no later
than 1:00 P.M. on the date of the event.
