DAVIE, COOPER CITY AND DAVIE-COOPER CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LAUNCHES BUY LOCAL BUSINESS INITIATIVE
DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie, City of Cooper City, and Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce the launch of their joint shop and eat local campaign called, How Can I Help. The goal of this initiative is to encourage residents to support their local businesses, celebrate their patronage, and encourage others to visit these businesses.
The campaign is designed to help mitigate some of the effects COVID-19 has had on local businesses. While adhering to Broward County Emergency Orders and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, residents are encouraged to shop and dine locally to support businesses located in both Davie and Cooper City. This will help to support job security and help the local economy recover.
Small and large businesses have been impacted by COVID-19 and have faced numerous obstacles in increasing patronage. This program aims to provide online resources for businesses to market their products and services, as well as encourage citizen participation.
The campaign will kick off with participating businesses utilizing the #How2Help tagline. Business owners will showcase their support and participation in the campaign by posting on their social media platforms or website various discounts, specials, or even a loyal or happy customer shopping, placing an order, or interacting at the business. Businesses interested in participating will receive a marketing kit for its storefront and online presence including posters, promotional flyers, website badges, email templates, logos, and social media materials. Also, Davie, Cooper City and the Chamber of Commerce will market those businesses on their various media sources including their website, newsletter, and social media platforms.
Community members will join in the marketing conversation online by utilizing the hashtag, #HowIHelped. Residents are encouraged to share a picture of themselves supporting a local business with the hashtag, #HowIHelped.
Each time the hashtags are used Davie, Cooper City, and the Chamber of Commerce will share the pictures to promote the businesses and to thank our community members.
“Our businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Town of Davie Mayor Judy Paul. “As a Town, one of our goals is to get these businesses back on track during these challenging times. This campaign is one of many steps that we are taking to support our businesses. Power up and show how the strength and love within our community can bring our local economy back to a sustainable level.”
City of Cooper City Mayor Greg Ross says, “What makes Cooper City ‘Someplace Special’ are our businesses and the residents that support those businesses. We work, play, and shop local, to help the businesses that helped the residents in their time of need. The entire community will embrace the “How Can I Help Campaign”. It’s an exciting venture.”
“We are all in this together, and it is an honor to be able to help our businesses move forward during these challenging times,” said Charinus Johnson-Davis, Chief Executive Officer for the Davie-Cooper City Chamber Commerce. “The Chamber enlisted the pro-bono support of the Davie-based Marketing firm, Brand Ethos, to develop the campaign and tools for our businesses and community members to join forces in this effort. We are excited to see this all come to life and look forward to this continued collaboration long after the pandemic is over!”
