DAVIE FIRE RESCUE PERSONNEL RECEIVE THE 2021 FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH EMS EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
DAVIE, Fla. – The Town of Davie is pleased to announce that Assistant Fire Chief Jorge Gonzalez and Battalion Chief Daniel Moran received the Florida Department of Health (DOH) and the Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Educator of the Year award. The award was presented during the 2021 Excellence in EMS Awards Ceremony on Sept. 29, 2021.
This award recognizes individuals who assumed a leadership role in emergency medical care education, demonstrate excellence and contribute to making a positive impact in the community.
Along with their numerous roles and responsibilities, Assistant Chief Jorge Gonzalez and Battalion Chief Daniel Moran oversee the daily operations of the Davie Fire Rescue Emergency Medical Services. They also work alongside Medical Director Dr. Peter Antevy to lead the Florida Resuscitation Academy whose core mission is to increase survival from sudden cardiac arrest. Their work in the academy provides Fire Rescue and EMS personnel across Florida the tools needed to strengthen communities in increasing out-of-hospital cardiac survival rates.
“In response to a modern-day pandemic, our fire rescue department personnel’s excellent standard of care did not waiver,” said Mayor Judy Paul. “To see their hard work being recognized at the state level by their peers warms my heart and it is a true reflection of the incredible service they provide daily.”
