1. What is a four-day workweek?

This concept extends the employees’ workday from 8 to 10 hours a day, four days a week, replacing the 5-day work week of 8-hour days.  This schedule accommodates early morning and late afternoon customer service needs.

2. When will the four-day work schedule begin for the Town of Davie?

The Town’s four-day workweek schedule will begin on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

3. What timeframe will Town Hall provide services?

Municipal Town Hall operations at 8800 SW 36th Street will take place Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

4. Will the four-day work schedule impact my utility bill payment options?

Effective Thursday, August 3, 2023, residents who receive utility services from the Town of Davie will continue to have the following methods to remit payments:

• Pay in person at Town Hall, 8800 SW 36th Street, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The hours for bill payment have been extended with the new hours of operation. 
• Drop-off payments at the utility drop box located at Town Hall.
• Residents can also make payments online at https://www.davie-fl.gov/203/Utilities-Customer-Service. 

5. What if I have a utility emergency?

Limited after-hours customer service will remain available to address emergencies only. The Town's Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities operate 24/7 and despite the administrative office hour changes, there will be no operational impacts. However, general inquiries and other non-emergency services can be addressed during regular Monday to Thursday business hours.

6. What should I do if I need emergency fire and police services?

In case of an emergency, please dial 911. The four-day workweek schedule will have no impact on the emergency services provided by Davie’s Fire Rescue and Police Departments.

7. Will the four-day workweek impact Code Compliance calls for service in the community?

No. Code Compliance services will not be impacted by the four-day workweek. In fact, with the new schedule, Code Compliance will have staff working on various shifts from Monday through Saturday. To file a code complaint, please call 954-693-8237 or email policecodeenforcement@davie-fl.gov.  

8. How do I submit a public records request?

The following opportunities are available for those who wish to place a public records request:

• Contact the Town Clerk’s Office Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 954-797-1000 or via email at townclerk@davie-fl.gov.
• Go to the Town’s website at https://daviefl.mycusthelp.com/webapp/_rs/(S(icscxc4ehng3bvhhqh2dlllx))/supporthome.aspx to submit your inquiry. 
• Visit the Town Clerk’s Office in person at Town Hall 8800 SW 36 Street (Building C), Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

9. How can I obtain a building permit?

To request a permit from one of the building disciplines (Structural, Engineering, Plumbing, Landscape, or Electrical) please contact the Building Division from Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or visit in person at 8800 SW 36 Street, Davie, FL (Building A).

10. How can I request an inspection?

To coordinate an inspection, please utilize one of the following methods which are currently available:

• Automated Phone Line - To schedule an inspection you may use our automated scheduling system at 954-797-1128/1129. You need your phone access code and inspection code located in the permit package. The inspection sheet is an 81/2"x11"(standard size) paper with the Town of Davie seal in the left upper corner. Note: this is not located on the permit card.
• Via email - You may e-mail your inspection request to inspections@davie-fl.gov. Be sure to provide your permit number, job address, name of inspection and code of inspection.
• Via eSuite - You may use the online eSuite account/portal to schedule inspections and view permit status. FYI: When looking up a permit make sure to type the complete permit number ex: 2022-00008490.  

Note: All inspection requests received during the business day will be scheduled for the next workday. If inspection requests are received during non-business hours, they will be processed on the next business day. A verification e-mail for the inspection will be sent to confirm the details.

11. How do I submit a request for an Engineering Permit?

To request an Engineering Permit, please complete the permit application and submit it to engpdox@davie-fl.gov to begin the permitting process. Once the application is reviewed and approved, you will be contacted with the next steps to upload your respective project documents. 

12. I need to get a Business Tax Receipt. How can I apply?

Applicants must complete the Business Tax Receipt application form and then email the completed application and all attachments to BTR@davie-fl.gov. For questions regarding this process, please contact the office at 954-797-1212.

13. Will this change impact facility reservations and rentals?

For those who are interested in renting a Davie shelter or other facility, you can do so by contacting the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at 954-797-1147 or email MPC Rentals.

14. What if I want a film permit? Will this process be impacted?

All commercial photography/filming is prohibited without a film permit from the Town’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. For those who require a film permit, please contact the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department Monday through Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. at 954-797-1147.

15. Will the four-day workweek impact the services and programs provided at Pine Island Multipurpose Center?

No. There will be no operational changes at the Pine Island Multipurpose Center located at 3801 S. Pine Island Road, Davie, FL 33328. The facility will retain its regular operating hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

16. Will the four-day workweek impact the Fitness and Aquatic Facility hours of operation?

No. The Fitness and Aquatic Center will continue operating its regular hours: Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

17. Will the hours of operations for Town parks be impacted?

No. Town parks, playgrounds, and restrooms will continue normal operations from 9 a.m. to sunset except for: 

• Driftwood, Shenandoah, Waterford and Waverly Park will close at 9 p.m. 
• Pine Island Park/Bamford Sports Complex will close at 10 p.m.

18. What if I need help after-hours at a Town park?
